Hiking Trails At Forsythe Refuge To Close Temporarily For Hunting


GALLOWAY, NJ — Wednesday marks the beginning of the annual deer hunt at the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge.

Because of this, all hiking trails except for the Leed’s Eco Trail will be closed to the public through Dec. 17.

The refuge posted the following on social media (see below for map of closed area):

The ‘back’ portion of the Wildlife Drive will be closed and traffic will be two-way on the dike, with a turnaround point at what is referred to as the Dogleg (see below). Signs will mark the turnaround point on the Drive.
