Easton Area School District preliminary budget will include a 2% tax hike

The Easton Area School Board will vote later this month on a 2022-23 preliminary budget with a 2% tax increase.
If the preliminary budget is approved May 24, the 2% tax hike can only go down or stay the same by the time the budget comes up for a final vote June 28.
Chief Financial Officer Michael Sokoloski discussed the budget at the school board meeting Tuesday. You can see his comments on the YouTube meeting video. He said the board is still trying to close a $7 million budget gap.
